test exists to detect Ovarian Cancer. However, even in its earliest stages Ovarian Cancer displays symptoms. Research indicates that ninety percent of women with early-stage Ovarian Cancer experience symptoms but these symptoms are often subtle and easily confused with other conditions. Consequently, only 19% of the Ovarian Cancer cases in the United States are diagnosed at an early stage.

The money raised will;  deliver an Ovarian Cancer education program for women and provide financial grants to women, to the extent funds permit, who otherwise cannot afford required medical testing. Eligibility is limited to women residing in greater Williamsburg.
Your participation will help achieve these goals. All money raised by this event will be spent locally and no administrative deductions will be made.
Karene O'Hare Ovarian Cancer Memorial Run
One in 72 American women will be diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer during their lifetime and one in 95 American women will die from the disease.  Approximately 75% of Ovarian Cancer cases are diagnosed at an advanced stage after the cancer has spread beyond the ovary. Currently no routine screening
